Operation RTR Phase 2

After gathering advice and input from several sources (Sally, Dan and Liz), I decided on my RTR dress this weekend.

Nicole Miller Keyhole Goddess Gown

Thanks to Liz, I also discovered the RTR facebook page which among other things, has photos of real life Runway Renters wearing their dresses! I found several of the dress I chose, which made me very excited about the Rotaract Masquerade Ball Saturday night (post party update to come of course)!

The dress should arrive Friday. I opted for the two sizes to hopefully ensure it fits! Results to come...

well, i guess now is as good as time as any...

These were the words Alan began his proposal with to my roommate, Liz. In the spirit of Emily and Brad's engagement/break-up/working things out? I wanted to announce this engagement! They got engaged late Saturday afternoon and came to our friend, Samantha's apartment in midtown afterwards for a surprise gathering of family and friends. They are getting married October 15th!

This will be my 4th wedding appearance (Holley, Sally, and Kim in April) and a solid start on my bm dress collection. Stay tuned for color/style selection. She's only been engaged 3 days, and she already has date, church, reception venue, band and photographer. A wedding planning feat of unparalled efficiency.

Best Wishes & Congrats to Liz and Alan!

always a bridesmaid...

Will be working on finding items for your future engagements, but first...

I found this at J.Crew.

Comes in the plethora of colors above.  Unfortunately, in this case, 'plethora' tells me BRIDESMAID DRESS.  Ugh.  Is it obvious? A $250 dress marked down to $99.  And I actually like the bow.  Black maybe navy?  What does this dress say to you?

Oh.  And did I mention with the code SHOPNOW you get an extra 30% off of sale items?  Bringing the grand total to approximately $70.  $70.

wedding wardrobe

My brother is getting married in approximately 4 weeks. This is unfortunate because that is the exact same weekend that my close and dear obsession, Patrick Dempsey, will be racing in Birmingham. In order to console myself of the fact that my once chance to actually meet Dr. McDreamy in the flesh is passing before my eyes, I will focus on all the many outfits I get to don at all the many wedding festivities. I will of course need assistance with my selections...they need to be KILLER.

I need the following outfits:

1. Bridal Shower Luncheon
2. Bridesmaids Luncheon
3. Rehearsal Dinner-planning to wear my navy Chloe and Reese dress, but shoes???
4. Wedding-during the day

My brainstorming thus far...Lily Pulitzer has come out with an impressive spring line...even better--they're on Rent the Runway!

Each window is so beautiful.  I swear I would never take this sailboat blouse off.  If only my lifestyle required my wardrobe to contain such fashions.

Astronaut Oven Mits

One thing I love about Em is her enthusiasm to "go there."  This week Emily went there... and beyond.  After an awesome weekend with Em and Dan, their trip to Rocket City ended with a visit to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center.  Nick and I had been just the weekend before with my parents and left them to explore and become 'Gemini Members' on their own.
During their visit the two of them enjoyed their coffee from these little conversation pieces that they found in our cabinet.  They make the coffee out of this world.  These were gifts from my parents on their latest visit.

So, Em, being the ever gracious guest sent us a thank you note with a gift included.  This is what came:

Astronaut Oven Mits

I have never laughed so hard alone in my life.  Em knew how much I would appreciate these.  What a perfect companion to our mugs!  Oh, and Emily and Dan may or may not have purchased some mugs of their own.  I don't know how we can beat this, but Nick and I are always up for a challenge.

So practical, yet so awkward.

Em's Quiche Recipe coming soon!

Until Next Time
